This pink salt block can be used as a griddle for grilling food. It distributes heat like a cast iron griddle and imparts just the right amount of salt to the food cooked on it.

It can also be used cold and even frozen, as it withstands temperatures from -20?C to 350?C. Therefore, in addition to being used as a griddle, it can be used to serve foods like ice cream, helping them maintain their temperature for longer. It is not recommended for use with liquid dairy products or butter.

Advantages:

Very little smoke is produced when grilling food.

It can be used over hot coals, directly on a gas flame, or in the oven, although it must be preheated.

It is a material with virtually no porosity, making it completely non-stick.

Salt is a natural antibacterial and antimicrobial agent, so after use, most of the time, simply wiping off any residue with a paper towel will suffice; no need to clean or use soap.

Although some salt is consumed with each use, it lasts a very long time.

It’s perfect for grilling meats, vegetables, or marinated fish.

It’s also great for serving cold dishes like sushi, sashimi, or carpaccio, or for serving desserts that benefit from a touch of salt, such as chocolate desserts.

How to cook with your block

Make sure the block is completely dry and at room temperature before you begin cooking.

Place the block on the grill over indirect heat for 15-minute intervals, until it reaches a very high temperature (generally 400?C to 500?C).

Once the desired temperature is reached, let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Then it’s ready to use.

Season the food cooked on the block with salt-free seasonings.

TIP: Thick cuts of meat will take too long to cook; we recommend thin or fine cuts for better results.
