Product Description
This product is rich in natural mucilage (hemicellulose) that increases fecal bulk. Hemicellulose is indigestible by human digestive enzymes, and because it has a high inhibitory capacity, it hydrates and forms an emollient gel that exerts a mechanical action on the intestinal walls. This stimulates distension and triggers a reflex that promotes peristalsis, normalizing intestinal transit and thus facilitating the evacuation of soft, hydrated stools.
It is indicated in cases of chronic constipation, rectal constipation, and constipation during pregnancy, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation due to colitis, and as adjunctive treatment for constipation following antacid administration in duodenal ulcers and diverticular disease.
It also facilitates bowel movements in cases of hemorrhoids, pregnancy, convalescence, post-surgery, and in the elderly.
